Dublin Jewish Community
Community &  Educational Couple –  - July 2025

The Dublin Jewish Community, though small, has a rich history, a warm and welcoming present, and
an exciting future. Dublin is a friendly and cosmopolitan capital city, known for its culture, charm, and
quality of life. It is home to many international businesses, universities and high-tech companies. As a result, our Jewish community continues to evolve, with individuals and families arriving both
temporarily and permanently. These new arrivals bring energy and fresh perspectives, helping us
build a diverse, dynamic, and inclusive community.

Job Description

We are currently seeking an energetic, religiously observant couple to play a central role in our community’s growth. The couple will be involved in all aspects of community life and should be fluent bilingual English/Hebrew speakers with experience in Jewish education and communal work. Qualified teachers and native English speakers are especially welcome to apply.

This is a dual-role position involving work with:

1. The Dublin Hebrew Congregation (DHC): Supporting religious, social, and educational
programming for youth, students, families and seniors.

2. Stratford National School and Stratford College: Teaching Jewish Studies and Hebrew and supporting the school’s Jewish ethos.

Key Responsibilities:
● Plan and run engaging social, religious, and educational events.
● Support the Chief Rabbi of Ireland as needed.
● Assist with pastoral care and welfare for community members.
● Support kashrut supervision (hashgacha) and related duties.
● Teach Jewish Studies and Hebrew in Stratford National School and College.
● Lead morning prayers at Stratford College.
● Participate in daily, Shabbat, and Yom Tov services.
● Lead services and read from the Torah when required
● Provide bar/bat mitzvah instruction

An important part of this role will be reaching out to the broader Jewish population in Dublin. While the core synagogue community is relatively small, over 1,500 Jews live in the greater Dublin area — many of whom are not yet actively involved. We hope this couple will play a vital role in welcoming and engaging these individuals, both socially and religiously.
